We understand that investigations tend to involve numerous pieces of digital evidence that belong to suspects or victims like multiple cellular devices, tablets, and social media accounts. Cellebrite Pathfinder brings those datasets together in meaningful ways to highlight connections that might otherwise have gone unnoticed.

To help provide critical insight into this important area of digital analytics, we present the webinar, Big Data in a Small Package, Understanding and Utilizing Cellebrite Analytics”, presented by Justin Cole, a Senior Developer and Trainer at Cellebrite. The webinar will highlight four key areas:

  1. When and how to use Cellebrite Pathfinder in investigations
  2. Creating and managing cases
  3. Filtering and related functions within Cellebrite Pathfinder
  4. Tagging and reporting

Presenter: Justin Cole, Senior Developer and Trainer at Cellebrite

Justin brings years of hands-on practical experience with digital forensics to the Academy, including mobile device, computer and point-of-sale network intrusions.

Prior to Cellebrite, he was a law enforcement officer in the state of Alabama and served as a crime scene investigator and digital forensics examiner during his time as a detective.

Currently, Justin is responsible for course content delivery around the world to state and local law enforcement officers. Justin also assists the Cellebrite Training Team in developing new course content and performing research for emerging devices, technology and techniques.

He is a member of the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS) and a Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE).

Analytics – Multiple Dataset Recognition

Analytics opens Cellebrite Reader files generated from Cellebrite Physical Analyzer, along with other files exported for analysis such as UFDR, XML, CSV, and TXT. Analytics can simplify the process of combing through large amounts of datasets generated by phone carrier providers Call Detail records. The tool can ingest CDRs from known Carrier formats such as AT&T and T-Mobile.

Analytics – Machine Learning Saves You Time

Analytics has very powerful automated features including media and text analysis that uses the power of AI and deep machine-learning in order to recognize and categorize digital media. This, in turn, reduces the amount of time needed to manually process images and messages.

This automation feature processes images into categories such as weapons, drugs and explicit images which streamlines your workflow by producing faster turnaround times.

Other features explored in this webinar are; performing searches through all your connected datasets, conducting cross-data analysis and generating customized reports for court purposes.

2 Practical Examples

In this webinar, Justin will use Cellebrite Reader reports from two mock suspects’ phones. It is recommended that you follow along with your own dataset to perform your own experiments.
