Justice Joint:
The Essex Lorry Trail Part 2

Aired: Thursday, 9 May 2024
Join us for the second installment of “The Essex Lorry Trail” case overview (watch the first part). Just like in the previous episode, our esteemed host, Nick Harvey, is joined by Martin Brown, one of the key investigators in the “Essex Lorry Deaths” case and the phones officer. In October 2019, 39 bodies were discovered in the trailer of an articulated refrigerator lorry in Essex, UK. Regrettably, this was part of a human trafficking system that spanned across Europe.
What do we cover in the second part?
This episode focuses on how the human traffickers were apprehended. We transition from the crucial discussion surrounding the attribution of victims’ phones to the arrest of the lorry driver, who later exposed a wider organized criminal network. All of this became possible by leveraging the data found on the driver’s phone—listen to how this process unfolded. Additionally, expect a Q&A session where Nick and Martin addresses all of your inquiries.
