There are two different types of data collection outputs, .ufd and .ufdx, which represent two different things.

.UFD file – single extraction of a device.

.UFDX file – multiple extractions merged into one case.

If you highlight or hover over the file name, it will provide more information about the file saying “Type: UFED multiple dumps”. The “x” at the end signifies more than one file. The files in the .UFDX file can then all be put into Physical Analyzer and parsed as one case.
