Release Highlights: Endpoint Inspector Charts a New Course
Mobile devices have become essential in digital investigations, but they also introduce unique challenges in data collection and review. The latest iteration of Endpoint Inspector addresses these challenges with a range of added values that streamline mobile device data handling, enhancing flexibility and efficiency for investigators.
Mobile Decoding as a Service: Simplifying Data Review
One of Endpoint Inspector’s latest standout features is its ability to decode mobile device data directly into Universal Forensic Extraction Device Report (UFDR) format. By decoding data into a reviewable format directly, Endpoint Inspector simplifies the workflow from collection to review, creating a seamless and efficient process for eDiscovery teams, corporate investigators and legal professionals.
This enhancement offers:
- Direct Path from Collection to Review: Whether you’re using RelativityOne or another platform, data is ready for review without extra steps
- Simplified Workflow: No need for additional processing tools, reducing time and complexity
- Increased Flexibility: Choose your preferred review environment without being locked into specific tools
- Streamlined Integration: Easily integrates with RelativityOne, ensuring a smooth review process using one of the industry-leading review platforms
Precision Date Filtering: Focusing on What Matters
The new date-based filtering feature in Endpoint Inspector 2.5 provides greater precision in mobile data collection and review. Investigators can now select specific timeframes for decoding conversations, eliminating the over-collection of irrelevant data.

These two screenshots show decoding filters. If you specify a date range, data is collected for the selected categories only when at least one of these activities falls within that range: sent, received, last written, and last accessed. You can also choose whether to include or exclude mobile data that has none of these dates. If you do not specify a date range, all mobile data is collected from the selected categories. You must enable decoding at the time you define a mobile collection with Endpoint Inspector or RelativityOne.
This approach brings several key benefits:
- Targeted Collections: Focus only on the relevant time periods to avoid sifting through unnecessary data
- Streamlined Reviews: Reduce review time by removing irrelevant content
- Better Alignment with Investigation Scope: Stay focused on the key details are material to the case
- Enhanced Privacy Protection: Collect only the data required, reducing exposure of personal information
Improved User Experience: In-App Documentation and Supportivity
Endpoint Inspector’s latest enhancements also greatly improves user experience by integrating help resources directly into the interface. Users no longer need to navigate through multiple tabs or portals to find the documentation they need. With a single click on the help button, investigators can gain quick access to vital resources saving time and reducing friction during critical investigations. This feature ensures that teams can maintain momentum without getting bogged down in troubleshooting.
Improved Custodian Resources: Simplifying Onboarding
New documents have been added to facilitate the collection process. These resources include:.
- Step-by-Step Workflows: Clear instructions on how to perform various collections
- Quick Start Procedures: Simplified processes for new users to get up and running quickly
- Communication and Security Components: Clear guidance and insights into setting up a secure workflow
- Troubleshooting Tips: Solutions for common collection challenges
