How to use the Malware Scanner in Physical Analyzer’s digital forensics tools
This week’s Tip Tuesday shows how you can leverage our malware scanner in Physical Analyzer while offline.
Steps:
Go to Malware scanner and click on ‘update signature database’. If you’re online, you get updates directly but if you’re not, you need to download Bit Defender definitions and load them.
Here is how you do the latter:
- In Physical Analyzer, scroll down until you see add-ons.
- Choose Bit Defender and click ‘Download’.
- Go to your download directory.
- Right-click on the definitions and ‘Extract all’.
- Proceed back to Physical Analyzer and click ‘Update from file’.
- Select the definitions file.
- Once completed, you can run the malware scanner against your evidence file.
