Mobile Device Forensics: New features in UFED that assist to connect a mobile device
On this week’s Tip Tuesday, we show you the new features built into UFED to help you connect to mobile devices.
Smart Flow:
- Automates the selection of extraction methods.
- For example, you will get ‘Full File System’ extraction for file-based encrypted devices.
- For full disc-encrypted devices, ‘Physical’ will appear as an option.
- You can also do selective file system extraction under ‘Auto Detect’. Useful for attaching unlocked devices.
- For manual device search, the option will be listed under ‘Search Devices’.
Device Wizard
- Helps identify the chipset on Android devices or if the profile is not found.
- Scans your device and provides you with the best option for successful extractions.
