Course Description
Cellebrite Reader is an entry‑level, one‑day course designed to help investigators, prosecutors, analysts, and other non‑technical professionals confidently review digital forensic reports received from a lab.
This course focuses on using the free Cellebrite Reader tool to open UFDR reports, search and filter evidence, tag and highlight key items, and generate focused reports to support investigations, case reviews, and courtroom preparation—without performing forensic extractions.
No prior digital forensics or Cellebrite experience is required.
Course Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Understand where Cellebrite Reader fits within the digital forensic workflow
- Open and navigate UFDR reports received from forensic labs
- Search, filter, tag, and bookmark evidentiary items efficiently
- Review messages, media, call logs, and app data to support investigations
- Generate focused Reader reports for investigative and legal needs
What You’ll Work On
Hands‑On Reader Workflows Include:
- Opening and navigating UFDR reports generated by forensic labs
- Searching and filtering evidence across messages, contacts, calls, media, and apps
- Tagging, bookmarking, and organizing key evidentiary items
- Reviewing timelines and artifact details for investigative relevance
- Creating focused Reader reports tailored to investigative or legal requirements
Optional Training Formats
Cellebrite Reader training is available in multiple formats to support different learning needs:
- Self‑Paced Training: Guided, self‑paced learning available through the Cellebrite Learning Hub.
- Virtual Instructor‑Led Training: Live, instructor‑led sessions delivered remotely with hands‑on guidance and Q&A.
- In‑Person Training: Classroom training for teams and agencies seeking interactive, discussion‑based learning.
- Conference & Event Training: Reader training is also offered at select industry conferences and events, providing practical, hands‑on exposure alongside event attendance.

When This Course Matters: When investigators, prosecutors, or analysts need to review and understand digital evidence without performing forensic extractions or advanced analysis. This course provides the foundational skills required to confidently consume forensic results and collaborate effectively with digital forensic labs.
Recommended Experience: No prior digital forensics or Cellebrite experience is required. This course is designed specifically for non‑examiner roles and is often the first step in a broader Cellebrite training path.
