    Course Description

Build practical mobile device extraction skills for defense and intelligence operations using Cellebrite Inseyets UFED. Through hands-on training, learn to triage mobile devices, acquire data from locked Android and iOS devices, extract data from SIM cards and removable media, and produce reports that support operational and intelligence workflows. Develop the skills to rapidly acquire and preserve mobile device data while maintaining its integrity for further analysis.

    Course Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:

    • Define key cellular and mobile identifiers, including IMEI, MEID, IMSI, ICCID, and MSISDN.
    • Describe the differences between Before First Unlock (BFU) and After First Unlock (AFU) device states.
    • Explain how File-Based Encryption and Full Disk Encryption affect mobile device exploitation.
    • Navigate the Inseyets UFED interface to configure extraction settings.
    • Isolate captured mobile devices from cellular and wireless networks to preserve evidentiary integrity.
    • Triage captured mobile devices to identify data of immediate intelligence value.
    • Perform SIM card acquisition to recover subscriber and communications data.
    • Acquire data from removable storage media recovered with mobile devices.
    • Execute Android and iOS extractions using the appropriate method for the device profile.
    • Compare regular and advanced extraction methods to determine the best option for a given device.
    • Assess the reliability and intelligence value of extraction results.
    • Generate Cellebrite Reader reports that support targeting and downstream analysis.
